KIADB Aerospace Park to Electronic City Distance

The starting point matters because KIADB Aerospace Park has several gates and industrial sectors. The final distance also changes with the destination inside Electronic City.

This route covers about 49 km to Electronic City Phase 1. It uses major city roads and gives access to fuel stations, restaurants and hospitals along the journey. However, the Outer Ring Road section can become slow near KR Puram, Marathahalli, Bellandur, Agara and Central Silk Board.

After Central Silk Board, travellers can enter the Electronic City Elevated Expressway. The elevated road avoids several junctions between Silk Board and Electronic City. The alternative is to continue on the Hosur Road surface lanes, which do not require the elevated-road toll but can take longer.

A second route runs through:

KIADB Aerospace Park → Airport Road or Bagalur Road → Yelahanka → Hebbal → Outer Ring Road → Central Silk Board → Hosur Road → Electronic City

This route may cover about 54 to 58 km. It can be useful when Hennur–Bagalur Road has heavy traffic or road work. However, it passes through busy points such as Hebbal, Nagawara, KR Puram, Marathahalli and Silk Board.

The Hebbal route is usually not the shortest option. It may still be more predictable late at night or when traffic is lighter on Bellary Road.

Another route uses Aerospace Park Road, Budigere Cross, Whitefield, Varthur, Sarjapur Road and Chandapura before entering Electronic City. This route can help travellers avoid Hebbal and the western part of the Outer Ring Road.

Its main weakness is road variation. Traffic near Whitefield, Varthur, Gunjur and Sarjapur can increase travel time. Some connecting roads are also narrower than the main ORR route. This option should be selected only after checking live traffic.

Travellers using the elevated section between Central Silk Board and Electronic City must pay a toll. From 1 July 2026, the one-way charge for cars, jeeps and vans is ₹65. Motorists can avoid this charge by using the Hosur Road surface lanes, but the surface route has more junctions and mixed traffic.

The main KIADB Aerospace Park–Electronic City route does not require NICE Road. NICE Road adds a long diversion and is generally not useful for this north-to-south journey.

The morning peak period is generally busiest between 7:30 AM and 10:30 AM. Traffic can build near Hennur, Nagawara, KR Puram, Marathahalli, Bellandur and Central Silk Board. A journey that takes 95 minutes early in the morning may cross two hours during office traffic.

The return journey becomes slower between 4:30 PM and 8:30 PM. Electronic City flyover exits, Silk Board, Bellandur and Marathahalli are the main delay points. Travellers should keep at least 30 to 45 minutes of extra time for a weekday meeting or flight connection.

BMTC services connect the Bagalur side with Konappana Agrahara and the Electronic City corridor. A listed Bagalur–Konappana Agrahara service takes around 1 hour 43 minutes, but this does not include the journey from an Aerospace Park gate to the Bagalur bus stop or the waiting time. The full public-transport trip can therefore take about 2 to 2.5 hours.

Another option is to travel from KIADB Aerospace Park to Kempegowda International Airport and board the KIA-8 Vayu Vajra service. KIA-8 links the airport with Electronic City through Hebbal, Manyata Tech Park and other city stops. BMTC’s official fare document confirms the airport–Electronic City service.

A bus can reduce driving stress, but it is not usually faster than a direct car or office cab. Service frequency and the nearest pickup point should be checked before travel.

There is no direct operational metro connection from KIADB Aerospace Park to Electronic City as of August 2026. Electronic City is served by the Yellow Line, which opened in August 2025 and connects RV Road with Bommasandra through Central Silk Board, Hosa Road, Electronic City and Hebbagodi.

The airport-side Blue Line is still under construction. The complete airport corridor is targeted for operation by the end of 2027. Once the Blue Line is open, passengers from the airport and Doddajala side are expected to travel towards Central Silk Board and change to the Yellow Line for Electronic City. This future connection can reduce dependence on a full road journey, but it is not available yet.

Electronic City Phase 1 is the nearer destination from KIADB Aerospace Park. It contains major campuses and offices around Infosys Avenue, Neeladri Road and Konappana Agrahara.

Electronic City Phase 2 lies farther south. Travellers may need another 4 to 6 km and 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the office gate and traffic. Destinations towards Hebbagodi or Bommasandra require additional travel on Hosur Road.

A daily two-way commute between these employment hubs can cover nearly 100 km. Even with light traffic, the total driving time may reach three hours. During peak traffic, it can take four hours or more.

The route is possible for occasional business visits, client meetings or hybrid work. It is less practical for a five-day office commute. Employees working permanently in Electronic City may find South Bangalore, Hosur Road, HSR Layout, Kudlu Gate or Bommanahalli more suitable for daily living.

Northern Lights by Puravankara | KVN is located within the KIADB Aerospace Park corridor at Bagalur. The project offers 2, 3 and 4 BHK apartments and is designed mainly for buyers who need access to Aerospace Park, the airport, Bagalur and North Bangalore employment zones.

Electronic City is about 45 to 50 km from this corridor. The project can still suit a household where one member travels to Electronic City only on selected days. It is not the strongest location for a person who must report to an Electronic City office every weekday.

Residents can use the Hennur–ORR route for regular road travel. The future Blue and Yellow Line connection may improve public transport, but buyers should not treat the proposed metro as an operational benefit today.

A car or office cab is the fastest current choice. It gives direct gate-to-gate travel and allows the driver to change routes based on traffic.

BMTC is better for people who do not want to drive, though the trip may require local travel or waiting. The metro cannot yet complete the full journey from Aerospace Park. It becomes useful only after reaching an operational station through another mode.

Electronic City is not close to KIADB Aerospace Park for a regular Bangalore commute. The two locations sit on opposite sides of the city. Aerospace Park is in North Bangalore near Bagalur and the airport, while Electronic City is in South Bangalore along Hosur Road.

The approximate 49 km distance is manageable for occasional travel but long for a daily commute. Travellers should use the Hennur–Outer Ring Road–Hosur Road route, leave before peak traffic and check live navigation before starting.
