KR Puram

KR Puram is about 12 km from MG Road and sits at the entry point of East Bangalore. The KR Puram Railway Junction is a major suburban rail hub. The Namma Metro Purple Line runs through KR Puram station. It connects to Baiyappanahalli and Whitefield.

KR Puram has grown fast due to demand from nearby Whitefield and Mahadevapura IT parks. A 2 BHK flat here costs between ₹60 lakhs and ₹1.5 crores. Older buildings and limited gated communities push many buyers to look elsewhere for newer homes.

CV Raman Nagar

CV Raman Nagar is a quiet area about 1.5 km from Old Madras Road. It has several DRDO labs and defence research units. This brings in a stable base of senior-level residents. The area has large parks and tree-lined streets.

A 2 BHK in CV Raman Nagar starts around ₹70 lakhs in older stock. New launches are rare here because land is tight. Buyers who want open space and privacy often look at North Bangalore townships instead.

Indiranagar

Indiranagar sits about 4.5 km from the Old Madras Road junction and 8 km from MG Road. It is known for its 100 Feet Road, restaurants, and retail shops. The Metro Purple Line runs through Indiranagar station.

A 2 BHK in Indiranagar starts at ₹1.5 crores and can go above ₹3 crores in new buildings. Land here is scarce and expensive. Many buyers who cannot afford Indiranagar look north along the ORR for newer homes with more space.

Mahadevapura

Mahadevapura is about 3.8 km from Old Madras Road. It sits at the junction with the Outer Ring Road. Large IT parks like Bagmane Tech Park and Cessna Business Park are nearby. The Metro Purple Line connects this area to Baiyappanahalli and Whitefield.

Mahadevapura is dense and congested during peak hours. Many IT professionals here earn strong salaries but find housing quality poor for the price. They often look at North Bangalore for newer, larger homes.

The Outer Ring Road connects Old Madras Road areas to North Bangalore. It runs in a loop around the city. You travel ORR to Hebbal, then take NH 44 north to Bagalur Road.

Times are for normal traffic. The ORR between KR Puram and Hebbal is largely signal-free. The STRR (Satellite Town Ring Road) will cut these times further once complete.

The Metro Purple Line runs east to west. It passes through KR Puram, Indiranagar, and Mahadevapura. It connects to Baiyappanahalli in the east and Whitefield further out.

The upcoming Metro Blue Line (Airport Line) runs from Doddajala to Hebbal and into the city. Doddajala Metro Station is 2 km from Purva Northern Lights. Hebbal will be the interchange station between the Purple Line and the Blue Line.

A resident of Purva Northern Lights can take a short ride to Doddajala, board the Blue Line to Hebbal, switch to the Purple Line, and reach KR Puram or Mahadevapura by rail. Both lines need to be operational for this full route to work.

Route 1 — ORR Direct

Take NH 44 from Bagalur to Hebbal. Merge onto the ORR east toward KR Puram or Mahadevapura. The stretch from Hebbal to KR Puram is roughly 14 km. Total travel from Bagalur is 40 to 50 minutes.

Route 2 — Hennur Road

Bagalur Road links to Hennur Road. Hennur feeds into the ORR at Hennur junction. From there, KR Puram is about 14 km east. This route avoids Hebbal and can be faster during peak hours.

Route 3 — Metro (Future)

Once the Blue Line opens, residents take a short ride to Doddajala station. The Blue Line runs to Hebbal in about 20 minutes. The Purple Line then covers KR Puram in another 15 minutes. Total metro time is about 40 minutes, fully off-road.
